 1929 PACKARD 6 - 45 7 PASSENGER LIMOUSINE. CUSTOM BUILT BY PACKARD MOTOR CARS. THE 6-45 LIMOUSINE WAS THE LARGEST & HEAVIEST STANDARD PRODUCTION CAR FOR PACKARD IN 1929.

THERE WERE 2061 PRODUCED, AND AS OF NOW I HAVE FOUND ONLY ONE OTHER.THE ORIGINAL SELLING PRICE OF THIS CAR WITH ITS ACCESORY OPTIONS WAS OVER $6000 IN A TIME THE AVERAGE SALARY WAS $1200/YEAR ! THE PRICE OF A NEW FORD ROADSTER WAS ONLY $435.

THE 6-45 SUPER 8 HAS A 384.6 CUBIC INCH 105 HP ENGINE. ITS WHEELBASE IS 145 1/2" AND RIDES ON 7.00 X 21" WIDE WHITE WALL TIRES . THE 4 ROAD TIRES ARE FINE ,2 WERE ACTUALY THE SIDE MOUNTS WHICH APPEAR TO HAVE NEVER BEEN ON THE CAR. THE CURRENT SIDEMOUNTS ARE WORN BUT USEABLE AS SPARES. . CAR IS COMPLETELY STOCK.

THIS CAR ORIGINALLY WAS SOLD BY HITCHCOCK MOTORS ON STATE STREET IN SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA. IT WAS DELIVERED ON APRIL 25, 1929.

ALL NUMBERS SHOW IT TO BE IN THE CORRECT SERIES. THIS CAR TRULY SHOWS IT WAS WELL TAKEN CARE OF ALWAYS STORED OUT OF THE ELEMENTS.

BOTH FRONT AND REAR UPHOLSTERY IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. THE FRONT CHAUFFER SECTION DONE IN BLACK LEATHER AND THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT IN CLOTH

THE CAR SPORTS AN OLDER RESTORATION AROUND DONE AROUND 1980. ENGINE WAS REDONE THEN AND GONE THROUGH RECENTLY .THE PAINT ALTHOUGH STILL SHOWS WELL, WAS ACRYLIC LAQUER AND DOES HAVE STRESS CRACKS IN IT. THERE ARE ALSO SOME SMALL CHIPS AND SCRATCHES BUT NO DINGS OR DENTS

WIRING HAS BEEN ADDRESSED AND IS STILL 6 VOLTS , WITH NEW 1/0 CABLES WHERE REQUIRED. NEW OPTIMA BATTERY AND MASTER DISCONNECT SWITCH.

STARTER AND GENERATOR HAVE BEEN BENCH TESTED AND ARE FINE.

DISTIBUTOR , WIRES , PLUGS COIL ETC HAVE ALL BEEN REPLACED.

ORIGINAL DETROIT LUBRICATOR CARBURETOR HAS BEEN PROFESSIONALLY REDONE AND WORKS / RUNS GREAT. AN ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP AND REGULATOR HAVE BEEN INSTALLED ALTHOUGH THE VACUUM TANK HAS BEEN LEFT FOR SHOW IT CAN BE REDONE TO WORK. MOTOR STARTS AND RUNS LIKE TURNING ON A LIGHT SWITCH.

WATER PUMP IS A REBUILT WITH A NEW BELT.

THE 3 SPEED TRANSMISSION WAS REMOVED LESS THAN 600 OR SO MILES AGO AND CLEANED AND GONE THROUGH. CLUTCHES PILOT BUSHING , AND T/O BEARING WERE REPLACED

THE BRAKES , FRONT END , BEARINGS , DRIVE SHAFT ETC, HAVE BEEN GONE THROUGH AND SERVICED WITH NEW PARTS WHERE NEEDED.

FUEL TANK HAS BEEN CLEANED / SEALED AND IS IN GREAT SHAPE. GAS GAUGE IS THERE BUT IS THE ONLY GAUGE THAT DOESNT WORK.
